OMG

Okay, so May 2nd I lost my job. That Sunday I saw Joe Boyd in the atrium at Church. He's the teaching pastor at the Vineyard. I asked him what he was going to do with all of this raw footage from a recent series they did. You see, Joe along with Matt Milthaler, Brad Wise and camera guys Mark Denney and Bobby Frisch, took a trip from Jerusalem, OH to Emmaus, PA. And they asked folks if God was still walking with them. Anyway, they had like a million hours of raw footage that was not seen, and I asked what they were going to do with it.

"Well, we'd like to turn it into a movie, but editing is really expensive" Joe told me.
"Oh," said I, "I'm a video editor and I just lost my job and I'm looking for something to do." Naturally, Joe looked at me like I was nuts.

Anyway, the following week I met Joe and Brad for lunch and they asked if I could really pull a story out of their 50 hours worth of footage. I told them I could.

Well, to make a long story short and tidy, The Road Trip To Emmaus, PA will be seeing it's debut at the Derby City Film Festival on October 12 in Louisville, KY. Out of 400 applications, only 40 films were chosen.

I am in awe at the way God works in our lives. As I've said before, you'll never hear me say "I'm lucky". (Luck is when you draw to an inside straight). Instead, you'll hear me say "I am blessed."
